What is SIP?

SIP is a radical new type of line service which can support or completely replace your current ISDN/PSTN line deployment to deliver added features and huge cost savings to your business.

In line with BT’s drive towards there 21st Century network SIP lines utilise broadband for the routing of your telephone calls, by using a broadband infrastructure much of the traditional network routing hardware is bypassed, offering massively reduced rates for line rental and calls.

The advantages of SIP

The diagram illustrated shows how, through the use of SIP trunking your organisation can communicate to others.
  • Calls to anywhere in the World at the local call rate.
  • No need to invest in costly BRI and PRI cards as the business grows.
  • As reliable as PSTN gateways as can be used as a back-up.
  • Quality of Service (QOS) for maintained clarity in voice quality.

  • Video Conferencing
  • Streaming Multimedia Distribution

Additional advantages

Call savings are just one element of the benefits of SIP. By bypassing the traditional network technology you also leave behind its limitations, some of the additional benefits of SIP include:

Number anywhere – with the power of SIP you can take your landline number with you wherever your business moves.

Example – Company A has been trading for 15 years and has always advertised their landline number. The company plans to move but it is told that its new location is outside of the local exchange, therefore unable to take their number with them. By using SIP lines Sabre can move the number away from the traditional network so they can have the number wherever they move, anywhere in the UK!

Out of area number – By utilising the same feature as above Sabre’s SIP service can provide a company with an additional number, prefixed with any UK area code.

Example – Company A sell motor spares in Brighton (01273) and wish to target London for a tele-sales campaign. By using SIP services we can provide an additional number to company A under the 0208 area code prefix, giving a local presence in London when making calls.

SIP lines can also be used to route your voice and video conferencing services and site to site calls, offering savings against existing methods such as pay as you go conferencing.

How do I get it?

With over 10 years industry experience Sabre networks can install and maintain your SIP service. Subject to system capacity Sabre can have you up and running within around 10 working days.
